Ngāwhā Innovation & Enterprise Park - NorthTec

A new campus within the polytechnic tertiary educator NorthTec, the Ngāwhā Innovation & Enterprise Park site compliments other regional campuses in Kerikeri and Kaitaia. Courses available at the campus range from Business to Carpentry to Apiculture.

To accommodate this range, the classrooms were designed with large sliding doors to allow for flexibility in size. The workshop areas are open and lined with ply to provision for future fixing capabilities. Double doors connect each of the workshop spaces to allow for materials to be moved easily without corridor access.

The sculptural entrance acts as a focal point on the site, being visible from the road and Innovation Centre. The rest of the exterior is designed to correlate with the Innovation Centre, with a similar material palette and window boxing detail used. Full wall decals of native forest imagery are spread through the interior, nodding to the history of the site prior to its farmland conversion.
