Awards: 2018 Property Industry – Heritage and Adaptive Reuse Award of Merit
With the reduced need for workshop space, Air New Zealand had the desire to convert this industrial building into 7,000m2 of offices to bring staff closer to the airport operation. The concept was for a “campus” feeling, that linked together the various operations out at the airport. Upgrading an industrial site to a 21st century office space brought many opportunities to the design, for instance, utilising the volume of the sawtooth roof and expressing the existing chamfered beams.
